An Indian medical professor specialized in cardiac & Pulmonary transplants visits Ramallah Medical Complex and Al Najah National Hospital & meets with MoH officials

Nablus:
Dr. Komarakshi Rajagopalan Balakrishnan (Director, Cardiac Sciences-Fortis Malar Hospital), accompanied by his assistant Mr. SYED ZIA AKHTAR , visits Ramallah Medical Complex and Al Najah National Hospital and meets with the PCRF and MOH officials. He examined some cases suffering pulmonary & cardiac complexities and need transplant surgeries.
The team was accompanied by several NGOs representatives and activists among them Mr. Hassan Al Jabari & Mr. Ali Sheroukh from the International Society for Rescue, Mr. Ghassan Al Jamal, Randa Sharah & Hana Abdeen from the PCRF in addition to Rawad Al Taj.
All were received in the PMC by Dr. Ahmad Drowza head of the Cardiac Surgery Ward, and Dr. Hamad Madi. The team was oriented about the different wards of the hospital and also the needs of the hospital. In addition to the importance

of the cooperation of the exchange of expertise by training the Palestinian doctors in the field of cardiac and pulmonary transplanting surgeries in the Indian hospital.

The delegation & the companion team visited Al Najah National Hospital and met with Prof. Saleem Al Haj Yahiya the executive manager of Al Najah Hospital & Dr. Rafiq Othman and several medical cadres in addition to the Public Relations Manager. Also the delegation met with the International Affairs for the Minister of Health Consultant Miss Maria Al Aqraa’ and the manager of medical transfers Miss Ameera Al Hendi. During the meeting it was discussed the ways of common cooperation & how would Dr. Balakrishnan help in the field of transplation in his hospital.
Dr. Balakrishnan met with the youth Saleh Salamah who was operated by him last year and he is recovering right now. It is worth mentioning that Prof. Balakrishnan has operated a transplant surgery for the citizen Bassam Kawaziya.
An honoring ceremony between both side took place and he honored his excellency Minister of Health.

The delegation & the companion team conducted a tour in the hospital’s wards & visited patients suffering cardiac & pulmonary diseases, along with the pediatric, laboratories & X-Ray divisions.
A meeting with Dr. Haj Yahiya and high level physicians have been conducted were the medical quo with regard to pulmonary & cardiac diseases has been diagnosed, in lights of the global improvements in this regard. Dr. Balakrishnan explained what the modern Indian hospitals reached in the field of pulmonary & cardiac transplantations.
The manager of Rafidia shed some lights on the current status of the medical situation in Palestine and what has been accomplished in that field
The two parties agreed on the future cooperation and coordination in this field.
Dr. Balakrishnan has examined 8 cases suffering pulmonary & cardiac diseases and prescribed some recommenations on their treatment and finally he expressed willingness for coordination for their treatment with the specialized areas.
