By: Madeeha Araj,
The deadline given by the occupation authorities to the citizens of the Jabal Al-Baba in the Eizariya town, Jerusalem, to leave their land, properties and homes ended last week. Thus, a new Nakbah (catastrophe) may take place should they succeed in implementing the plan, which means besieging the city of Jerusalem as a whole, and completely isolating it from its Palestinian surroundings.
The Judaization, racial discrimination and ethnic cleansing policy that carried out by the occupation government against the Palestinian citizens in the East Jerusalem i.e. the Bedouin communities in Jabal-Baba, Arab-Jahalin and Abu-Nawar community to evacuate them requires the world countries, especially, the US to intervene and pressure the Israeli government to stop that as their evacuation comes within the Israeli authorities to establish a link between the Ma'aleh Adumim and the surrounding settlement blocs with the occupied Jerusalem in order to control and isolate it from its Palestinian surroundings through E1 plan, which states the evacuation of all the Palestinian "Bedouin" living in E1 Area and the areas surrounding the settlement of the Ma'aleh Adumim.
Within the context of the Judaization plan, especially in the old town, Israel exchanges roles with the official State of occupation and the settlement associations of which the "Elad" settlement organization to control the citizens' properties adjacent to the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Al-Buraq Square.
Thus, the Israeli Supreme Court decided that Elad to run the archaeological basin existing above the Umayyad palaces near the Dome of the Rock. Moreover, the Israeli Central Court in occupied Jerusalem held a hearing to discuss the objections filed by the Wadi Hilweh Committee in the Silwan town regarding the Kedem settlement project which the settlement "Elad" intends to implement in exchange for the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Kedem Wall Building Scheme is considered one of the settlement projects that aims to promote Israeli tourism to the Wadi Hilweh neighborhood and to proceed with the Judaization of the neighborhood, which suffers from intensive settlement presence.
Besides, the displacement and ethnic cleansing policy that carried out in and around occupied East Jerusalem, the Israeli Legal Advisor, Avihai Mandelblit, is pushing for the expropriation of private Palestinian land in order to legislate at least 1,048 housing settlement units, which permits the confiscation of Palestinian land. However, according to his plan, about one third of the unlicensed buildings in the settlements could be licensed.
Now Mandelbilt wants to use Article 5 of the Special Military Order on "Government Property in the West Bank" to allow the state to control these lands. This procedure is different from the expropriation law, known as the settlement, but the settlements will remain in place, the landowners will not be able to access them, they will not be able to oppose the seizure, and they will receive compensation from the state.
Within this context, the Israeli Attorney General, Avihai Mandelblit, allowed the confiscation of 45 donums of private Palestinian land inside the settlement of Ofra near Ramallah for
settlement purposes, under the High Court of Justice's response,
The settlement is located on land registered in the taboo under 2 Palestinian residents of the Ein Yabrud and Silwad villages. According to the amended orders (of 2008) of 43 vouchers, of which 210 donums are located inside the built areas in the Ofra settlement. The Public Prosecution requested the Supreme Court to allow it to use only 45 donums in the settlement, although these lands are considered private property of Palestinian citizens. Mandelblit submitted a legal recommendation aimed at enabling legal amendments using article 5 of the order to confiscate private Palestinian land to be used by the settlers.
The High Court of Justice rejected a petition by Palestinians from the Jordan Valley area whose land were confiscated under occupation military order, which considered them a "closed military zone." They were later transferred to the settlers who are now planting them with palm trees. In the petition, the Supreme Court tried to persuade the petitioners to sue for compensation rather than land, but they refused then the court declared them as closed areas. After 20 years, the land was handed over to the Zionist Histadrut, under the Public Prosecutor's Office and with the approval of the Military Commander of the Central District at the time, Amram Mitzna.
Moreover, the Israeli occupation army has completed a comprehensive and comprehensive security plan to protect all settlements and roads in the West Bank, and was accomplished by the Minister of the Army, Avigdor Lieberman. Knowing that the army commander in the West Bank, Roni Noma, along with senior officers supervised the plan, which will be implemented in 15 years. The plan includes improving the roads and streets, the entrances of settlements in the West Bank, erecting fences and upgrading the processing of transport stations, and increasing radars, cameras and other modern technological means.
On the other hand, in a new offensive step, the US ambassador to Israel, David Friedman, agreed to participate in a special ceremony to be held in the illegal outpost "Shomurt Oz and Ga'on" close to the settlement "Efrat" to commemorate the killing of a US citizen, who was killed near "Josh Etzion" 2 years ago. The event will be attended by heads of settlement councils, rabbis and other Israeli public figures
