أكدت الكاتبة النقابية عائشة حموضة، رئيسة لجنة الأجور في الاتحاد العام لنقابات عمال فلسطين، أن استمرار تجاهل ربط الحد الأدنى للأجور بغلاء المعيشة يمثل “خللًا جوهريًا في مفهوم العدالة الاجتماعية”، داعية وزيرة العمل إلى تحمّل مسؤوليتها الوطنية والأخلاقية بإصدار قرار فوري يُنصف العمال الفلسطينيين.

وقالت حموضة إن نظام الحد الأدنى للأجور الذي أُقر عام 2013 نصّ بوضوح على ربط الأجور بغلاء المعيشة كحق مكتسب لا يخضع للنقاش أو الدراسة، مشيرة إلى أن قرار مجلس الوزراء الصادر عام 2021 برفع الحد الأدنى للأجور إلى 1880 شيقل – والمطبق منذ بداية عام 2022 – بقي خطوة ناقصة، لأن الحكومة لم تلتزم بتحديث الأجور وفق مؤشرات الغلاء التي تجاوزت في السنوات الأخيرة 30%.

وأضافت حموضة:

“من غير المنطقي أن تصدر كتب رسمية لإضافة غلاء المعيشة لموظفي القطاع العام، بينما يُترك العمال في القطاع الخاص يواجهون الأسعار المرتفعة وحدهم. العدالة لا تُجزّأ، ومن واجب وزارة العمل أن تحمي الجميع بلا استثناء.”

وأكدت أن إنصاف العمال لا يحتاج إلى لجان جديدة أو دراسات إضافية، لأن الأرقام والوقائع واضحة، موضحة أن الحد الأدنى للأجور الحالي لا يلامس حتى خط الفقر الوطني، في حين أن آلاف العمال والعاملات يعملون في قطاعات هشّة كـ الزراعة، والخدمات، والنسيج بأجور لا تضمن لهم حياة كريمة.

وختمت حموضة بتصريح حادّ اللهجة قالت فيه:

“العدالة ليست مطلبًا نقابيًا فحسب، بل قضية وطنية تمس جوهر الصمود الفلسطيني. لا يمكن بناء وطنٍ حرّ وعادل، فيما العامل الذي يزرع أرضه ويصنع خبزه يعيش تحت خط الفقر. إن العدالة الاجتماعية هي حجر الأساس لأي مشروع وطني حقيقي، وحماية العامل هي حماية للوطن ذاته، لأن العامل هو من يرفع الاقتصاد ويصون الكرامة الوطنية بعرقه وجهده اليومي. ربط الحد الأدنى للأجور بغلاء المعيشة ليس قرارًا إداريًا، بل قرار وطني بالانحياز للإنسان الفلسطيني الذي يستحق أن يعيش بكرامة على أرضه التي يدافع عنها كل يوم

Aisheh Hamouda: Justice Cannot Be Divided – The
Minister of Labor Must Immediately Link the Minimum Wage to the Cost of Living

Palestinian trade unionist Aisheh Hamouda, Head of the Wage Committee at the General Federation of Palestinian Trade Unions, affirmed that the continued neglect of linking the minimum wage to the cost of living represents “a fundamental flaw in the concept of social justice.”
She called on the Minister of Labor to assume her national and moral responsibility by issuing an immediate decision that ensures fairness for Palestinian workers.

Hamouda explained that the Minimum Wage System, enacted in 2013, clearly stipulated the linking of wages to the cost of living as an acquired right that should not be subject to debate or study. She pointed out that the Cabinet’s 2021 decision to raise the minimum wage to 1,880 NIS, which came into effect at the beginning of 2022, remained an incomplete step, since the government has failed to update wages according to the cost-of-living indicators, which have risen by more than 30% in recent years.

Hamouda stated:

“It is unreasonable that official directives are issued to add cost-of-living adjustments for public sector employees, while private sector workers are left alone to face soaring prices. Justice cannot be divided, and it is the duty of the Ministry of Labor to protect everyone without exception.”

She stressed that ensuring fairness for workers does not require new committees or further studies, as the facts and figures are already clear. The current minimum wage, she noted, does not even meet the national poverty line, while thousands of workers—especially in agriculture, services, and textiles—continue to earn wages that fail to secure a dignified standard of living.

In a strongly worded closing statement, Hamouda declared:

“Justice is not merely a trade union demand; it is a national cause that touches the core of Palestinian resilience. A free and just homeland cannot be built while the worker who tills the land and bakes the bread lives below the poverty line. Social justice is the cornerstone of any genuine national project, and protecting the worker means protecting the homeland itself
